ALCOGUM L-344
ALCOGUM L-344 is a newly designed acrylic associative thickener using a unique process, which has a high cost performance ratio that is unmatched by similar products. It is one of the most ideal thickening rheology agents that can match with domestic emulsion systems.
ALCOGUM L-344 has extraordinary potency at medium shear rates, which fully guarantees the thickening and rheology of the system. It is extremely convenient to apply both rollers and brushes during use, especially the last coating.
ALCOGUM L-344 provides sufficient low shear viscosity to ensure safe addition of color pastes in aqueous formulations and effectively control viscosity changes.
● Application
⭗ After adding L-344 during the paint making process, it takes 10 minutes to adjust the paint at medium and high speed to complete the association glue effect.
⭗ L-344 can effectively improve the viscosity at low to high shear rates, impart a smooth structure and optimal balance of sag and leveling, so that the product can completely improve the sensory quality of flat and semi-gloss coatings. In formulations with very low binder emulsions (relatively large particle sizes), high medium shear rate viscosity values can be obtained, which is usually not the suitable system for associative thickeners, giving low-cost formulation systems the best rheological properties, more like high-cost formulation coating products. Excellent flowability, creamy appearance and construction drag.
⭗ L-344 is suitable for toning systems, effectively preventing viscosity drop, and improving the compatibility stability of pigments. Especially in formulation systems with too much surfactant or residual electrolytes, it can better show the advantages. For example, when using concentrated pigment paste to color white latex base paint, the thickening efficiency of the usual acrylic thickener will generally weaken, and the viscosity of the paint after coloring and toning will also drop sharply, thereby breaking the interface stability of the pigment filler, resulting in floating color and flowering.
⭗ L-344 usually dosage 0.2-0.6% (total dry pair formula) can be directly added to the coating, in order to achieve the best effect, it is recommended to dilute the stock solution and water 1:5, slowly add the diluent in the low-speed stirring state, the PH value in the formula can not be lower than 8.5, because the PH value is too low will cause the viscosity of the flocculant to be unstable. Therefore, please adjust the pH of the paint to 9, or adjust the pH of the diluent to 8.5 (1:5 dilution) before adding it to the formula.

● Storage
L-344 is stable under normal sealed storage conditions to avoid freezing and heat.
