Building upon the provisional duties implemented on 27th November 2023, the Commission has established tariffs ranging from 6.6% to 24.2%, contingent upon the exporting producer. These duties are set to remain effective for a period of five years, signaling a sustained commitment to rectifying the imbalance caused by unfair trade practices. The decision to impose these duties follows an exhaustive investigation conducted by the EU, which unequivocally demonstrated that the dumping of Chinese PET imports posed an imminent and substantial threat to EU industry.
